A Snug Bug is a handmade, grain-filled heat pack encased in a soft, removable corduroy cover. Filled with wheat, barley, or sorghum, it can be heated in a microwave for warmth or chilled in the freezer for cooling relief.
Snug Bug products provide a natural and effective way to manage aches, pains, stiffness, and discomfort.
Heat therapy is widely recognised for its comfort and relaxation benefits, but it also helps with pain relief and muscle recovery.
Whether you need warmth on a cold night, relief from muscle tension, or a natural alternative for pain management, Snug Bug is a simple and effective solution.
Snug Bug heat packs are designed to mould comfortably to the area being treated, delivering consistent and long-lasting warmth. They are highly insulated, allowing them to absorb and retain heat or cold efficiently before gradually releasing it for effective relief.
💙 Available in various sizes and shapes to target different areas of the body.
💙 Provides deep, soothing warmth for relaxation and pain relief.
Snug Bugs are an excellent and safe alternative to a hot-water bottle to keep children, adults and even pets warm in the winter.
Yes! Simply remove the outer corduroy cover, place the inner bag inside a sealed plastic bag, and store it in the freezer for 3 to 4 hours before use.
Cold therapy is usually recommended during the first stages of an injury to help with inflammation.
Keeping one in the freezer ensures it's ready for use when needed.
For those who prefer a dedicated cold pack, we also offer Snug Bugs without an outer cover, specifically designed for cold therapy.
The first 15 minutes of heat application are the most beneficial, according to experts. Heat therapy is best used before physical activity to loosen muscles and after exercise to prevent stiffness and discomfort.
Unlike cold therapy, which is typically recommended within 48 hours of an injury, heat therapy can be used anytime to relieve stiffness, inflammation, or chronic pain. Many arthritis sufferers find that using a heated Snug Bug in the morning helps them manage pain and move more comfortably throughout the day.
Each Snug Bug comes with detailed usage instructions and recommended heating times for safe and effective use. The ideal heating time depends on your microwave’s power setting.
💡 Important: DO NOT OVERHEAT – This can cause injury and reduce the product’s lifespan.
Adjust heating times based on your microwave’s wattage to find the best setting for you. Rather underheat your Snug Bug while determining what your ideal heating time is.
Use a slightly shorter heating time during warmer weather.
Microwave your Snug Bug on a clean microwave plate (not metal rack) at 100% power. Occasionally, place a small cup of water in the microwave with the Snug Bug during heating to help replenish the moisture content of the grain. May initially give off a little moisture together with a natural grain smell, which ceases after a few uses.
